LOCAL AUTHOR TO SPEAK ABOUT LOVE AND LOSS
La Petite France Hosts Linda Campanella
West Hartford author Linda Campanella will share her story and sign copies of her recently published book at La Petite France in West Hartford Center on Friday, December 2, between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. Campanella’s When All That's Left of Me Is Love: A Daughter’s Story of Letting Go tells the emotional tale of her last year with her mother, who passed away at age 74 in September 2009, one year and one day after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. La Petite France, a traditional French bakery and café, is located at 967 Farmington Avenue.
Campanella’s heartwarming story of a daughter’s undying love for her dying mother is an uplifting portrait of one family’s determination to enjoy life while anticipating death. “For us, ‘terminal’ didn’t carry a termination date,” Campanella wrote. Her life-affirming book, written in the first few months after her mother’s death, is a celebration of the special bond between mothers and daughters, a touching love story, a spiritual journey, a poetry lesson, and even a case for happy hour. It is filled with insights and inspirations that will help anyone jolted into confronting the inevitability and sudden imminence of death, as well as those who care for or minister to those facing or grieving the loss of a loved one.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide or by visitingbarnesandnoble.com or amazon.com. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at La Petite France on December 2.
Campanella is a management consultant whose consulting practice serves the nonprofit sector. Previously her professional career included stints as an international trade negotiator in the executive branch of the U.S. government, an executive with United Technologies Corporation’s Pratt & Whitney division, and a senior administrator at Trinity College in Hartford. She currently resides in West Hartford with her husband, Joe. They have three grown sons.
